In November 2001 my SeaSprite23 "Gemstone" was destroyed by the storm that subsequently became Hurricane Karen.
Gemstone had been secured on her mooring by two new bridles. The intensity and duration of the storm resulted in both bridles being severed. Gemstone was then blown across the bay and was repeatedly slammed into a stone wall. The resulting damage left her beyond repair.

This Alberg 30 was blown aground a few yards away from Gemstone. She missed the wall and sustained only minor damage.
